So here it is the first weekly themed interesting links post. This week the theme is WordPress Plugins . As you might know I don't run a wordpress powered blog but a home brew one for bAdaptive. But those plugins and wordpress it self has and is a source of inspiration for features to add to my own. Below are implemented and to be implemented features for my blog .

Implented

• Comment Relish - Sends an email to first time commenter's to thank them for commenting. Adds extra interaction with your commenter's.
• Google XML Sitemaps - Creates XML files to inform Google (and other crawlers like MSN /Live and Yahoo! ) what pages to crawl. Make it a hell lot easier for crawlers to find and index your pages. My own site went from 1.300 index pages to 15.600 (as we speak) out of 25.000 pages .

To be Implented

• Subscribe to Comments - In simple words: It allows commenter's to keep posted on new comments by email so they don't have to check the blog every day and save time .
• favatars - Adds a favicon to comments/trackbacks/pingbacks if favicon is present for the URL. Not really special but a nice addition to the comments .
• MyAvatars - Adds MyBlogLog (or Gravatar if you enabled that) avatars to comments. Working on a class myzself to not just show MyBlogLog or Gravatar but MyBlogLog and Gravatar and BlogCatalog and Twitter and Digg avatars! It simple works by checking each site if it contains an avatar for the username, email and url combination. Will release more information soon but it's active on this site for all comments! Still looking for more sites to add before I release it, so could you be so kind post a comment if you think I should add a certain site?
